Luanda – 28 February 2025 | The National Integrated Ticketing Company (Empresa Nacional de Bilhética Integrada – ENBI) and Afrimoney signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday the 28th of February, at Africell’s headquarters, which will allow users of Giramais passes to top up through the Afrimoney platform.
Afrimoney is a fast and secure digital money solution that allows users to deposit, withdraw and transfer money, as well as pay for various services, including public services such as EPAL and ENDE.
ENBI, a public company under the Ministry of Transport, is responsible for modernising and digitising the urban public transport system in Angola. ENBI currently implements and manages the National Integrated Ticketing System (SNBI), present in the provinces of Luanda, Huíla, Benguela, Huambo, Malanje and Cabinda. The system aims to integrate various modes of transport, including buses, trains and boats, to facilitate citizens’ mobility.
This partnership stems from a mutual interest in expanding the recharging channels for Giramais passes, providing greater convenience for users. With more than 4,000 Afrimoney agents spread across Luanda, Kwanza Sul, Huíla and Benguela, users will be able to top up their passes quickly and safely, reducing the need to travel to ENBI’s physical points of sale.
“The partnership between ENBI and Afrimoney represents a significant step forward in the modernisation of the urban transport system in Angola. With this integration, we guarantee citizens a more accessible and convenient way to top up their Giramais passes, contributing to the efficiency and digitalisation of the sector,” declared Mário Nsingi, ENBI’s CEO.
Kátia da Conceição, CEO of Afrimoney, emphasised the company’s commitment to bringing innovative and impactful solutions to the transport sector.
“At Afrimoney, our goal is to make financial services more accessible and convenient for all Angolans. This partnership with ENBI allows users of the GiraMais pass to benefit from a practical, fast and secure digital solution for topping up their passes, eliminating barriers and making public transport even more accessible. We are excited about this collaboration and are confident that it will have a positive impact on thousands of passengers across the country”, explained Kátia.
This collaboration is expected to significantly improve the passenger experience, as well as bringing promotional campaigns with exclusive benefits, such as reduced charging costs and other advantages.
The initiative reinforces ENBI and Afrimoney’s shared commitment to promoting innovative solutions that benefit Angolan citizens, facilitating access to public transport services and contributing to financial inclusion in the country.
